Volunteering at Río Muchacho is a great experience for everyone involved. Not only is it a valuable learning experience for the volunteers themselves and a way to meet lots of interesting, fun and like-minded people, but it is always good for us at the farm to meet and get to know new people with new ideas for what we can do with the projects.
Volunteers have had an important role in much of the development on the farm, in community development efforts with our Environmental School, and in final our host of permaculture projects.
The farm recommends a four-week length of stay so that you get better knowledge for the workings of the farm and get the most out of your experience. Some volunteers stay for 2 to 12 months and acquire in depth knowledge of sustainable agriculture.

Ser voluntario en Río Muchacho es una gran experiencia para todos los involucrados. No sólo es una valiosa experiencia de aprendizaje para los propios voluntarios y una forma de conocer a mucha gente interesante, divertida y con ideas afines, sino que siempre es bueno para nosotros en la granja conocer gente nueva con nuevas ideas para qué podemos hacer con los proyectos.
Los voluntarios han tenido un papel importante en gran parte del desarrollo de la granja, en los esfuerzos de desarrollo comunitario con nuestra Escuela Ambiental y, finalmente, en nuestra serie de proyectos de permacultura.
La granja recomienda una estadía de cuatro semanas para que pueda conocer mejor el funcionamiento de la granja y aprovechar al máximo su experiencia. Algunos voluntarios permanecen de 2 a 12 meses y adquieren conocimientos profundos sobre agricultura sostenible.

Age is not an issue here at Rio Muchacho, we have had volunteers from 18 all the way up to 72 years old! There is always a use for you, whatever skills you have.
Notable useful skills are:
